| This is one of my favorite orchid images. Looking very much like a cross between a butterfly, a dragonfly, the spinnaker of a sailboat, and an ominous alien presence, this orchid has it all. The dash of blue light behind the flower adds just a bit of zest and intrigue to the composition It is difficult to see on the computer screen, but this flower has a great many small hairs that stand out in great detail in prints, especially the larger prints. Altoghether this image is a great attention-getter and always causes people to do a double take as they try to conceptualize what it is they are viewing. Ultimately, it's hard to explain - it's just simply a beautiful orchid. |
